Specification

The 9-Pin J1939 female connector is with a locking ring. Rotating the locking ring to the right place after plugging to a 9-Pin J1939 male receptacle assures that the connector won’t come unplugged accidentally.

The ends of Deutsch 9-Pin J1939 female and male connectors can be overmolded or not, according to your needs. If the ends are overmolded, the cables are more sturdy and durable. If not overmolded, the price can be lower because the raw material and labour cost is saved.

The Deutsch 9 Pin J1939 male connector is Type 1, so its Pin F is with bigger diameter. Type 1 or Type 2 J1939 9-Pin female sockets can be inserted into Type 1 J1939 9-Pin male receptacles.

Pin assignment or pin out

In most cases, all 9 pins of the J1939 male and female connectors are wired, so there are 9 wires of 20AWG in both cables. If there is no need for all 9 pins to be connected, the price can be lower because the raw material and labor cost is lower.

The pin assignment or pinout can also be customized according to your needs.


Application

This is a cable between a J1939 round Deutsch 9-pin female connector, a J1939 Deutsch 9 pin male connector and an open end.

Some telematics, fleet management devices or trucking technology devices with 9-pin J1939 connector need to be installed in dash. This cable can help extend the device to the dash.

The open end is mostly for testing purposes.
